Jose Mourinho wants £12m a year salary to retake Chelsea job

Starting over: Mourinho has made peace with Abramovich - but won't work for free
Jose Mourinho will demand a £12million-a-year salary to re-take the Chelsea job and wants Frank Lampard to stay. The Special One has set a special price to return to his Stamford Bridge throne, which would also hinge on the Blues qualifying for the Champions League.Popular Mourinho’s proposed west London 'homecoming' will be even better received with his determination to keep Stamford Bridge legend Lampard at the club.

Mirror Sport understands the Portuguese has already made discreet enquiries about the midfielder’s plans and will urge him to hold off on a final decision until his own destiny is resolved.

The former Blues boss remains a huge fan of Lampard and would want him to be part of his Chelsea set-up if he does return to the club he left six years ago.

Lampard, who turns 35 in June and is set to be out of contract at the end of the season, has been targeted by LA Galaxy.

The Major League Soccer club had been hopeful he would sign a three-year deal with them but the England star has stayed quiet on his future, even though there has also been interest from Manchester United and several Italian clubs.

Lampard, who is just two behind Bobby Tambling’s club record of 202 goals, may yet stay after months of fearing his time at Stamford Bridge was coming to an end.

Unpopular interim boss Rafa Benitez is definitely going at the end of the season, leaving fan-favourite Mourinho in the clear to take over.

The Chelsea supporters still sing Mourinho’s name on a regular basis but the Portuguese, who is on £10m-a-year at Real Madrid, will demand a big increase on his current earnings.

Ini's sexy curves and wow bum which hid inside her brown dress made all men to fall over themselves and on a number of occasions, she was being asked to come to the red carpets for shots with teeming fans taking turns for photo ops.

In Nollywood, where very few actresses have combined their art, sex and style perfectly, Ini Edo stands out and constant like a Northern Star.

In her word, “I think I was prettier when I was much younger. I saw some of my old pictures and I was like wow! Was this me? How did I become like this? I don't know what I do really; not that I do so much. I work out as much as I can and try to eat right. I try to keep my skin colour by moisturizing and basically I try to be happy.”

On actresses toning or bleaching their skins, she said “I think it's the most stupid thing to do. It's a big sign of lack of confidence. And I have never been tempted to do it.”

Over 110 roasted, crushed on Benin-Ore and Onitsha-Owerri roads

IT was a Friday of carnage on the roads in Edo and Anambra states as about 90 deaths were recorded. Over 60 passengers were roasted alive in multiple accidents along Benin-Ore road while at least 30 persons were feared dead on Onitsha-Owerri expressway.

It was a gory sight as more than 60 passengers were burnt to death in an accident at Ugbogui village near Okada town in Ovia North East council area of Edo State and Ofosu in Ondo State.

The incident occurred at about noon along the dual carriage Benin-Ore-Lagos road. It involved an articulated vehicle, a tanker fully laden with petrol and a luxurious bus.

The Nigerian Compass gathered that the trailer belonging to Dangote Group Limited, carrying bags of cement had a head-on collision with the long tanker loaded with fuel as its front tyre burst forcing the tanker to fall on the luxurious bus loaded with over 57 passengers.

The tanker immediately burst into flames which enveloped all other vehicles even as the occupants struggled amid wailines and cries for assistance, nobody could come out.
Three persons were rescued from the luxurious bus while the rest were trapped with charred remains of their bodies visibly seen as eyewitnesses yelled but could not get near.

Some of the passengers who struggled to jump out of the bus through the window could not make it as the doors and windows failed to open as the occupants were enveloped amidst think smoke emitting within and outside the vicinity.

Most of the travelers who rammed into the scene were held spellbound as no one could get near the tensed scene given the intense tongues of fire which raged. There was a heavy traffic along the route as travellers abandoned their vehicles while those who wanted to continue their journeys found it uneasy to locate any possible diversion out of the tensed area.

It took the hard effort and intervention of men of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) who came later and managed to rescue the three persons alive from the luxury bus, although the victims sustained severe burns.

The rescued victims of the accident were rushed to a nearby hospital close to the area.
Sources close to the scene said the drivers of both the tanker laden with fuel, the trailer and their motor boys also died in the carnage.

Besides, itwas uncertain where the vehicles were coming from and going to when the unexpected happened.

An officer of the FRSC who pleaded anonymity when contacted on phone described the situation at the scene of the accident as hectic as the rescue team were not finding it easy with the traffic.

A team of police men drafted from the Divisional Police station in Ekiadolor were on hand to assist in the rescue operation.

As at the time of filing this report the vehicles were still burning as the fire from the scene raged endlessly even as fire fighting men from the state were yet to arrive to quench the fire.

At the Anambra accident, at least 30 persons were feared dead and about six sustained various degrees of injuries when a trailer hit two Onitsha-bound commuter buses on the Ihiala end of the ever-busy Onitsha-Owerri Expressway, yesterday.

According to an eyewitness account, trouble started for the Onitsha-bound buses that loaded to capacity from Port Harcourt, Rivers State when on getting to Ihiala, they were hit by a trailer that has just finished on-loading crates ofbeer at a depot.

On reversing, the trailer hit the two on-coming pasenger buses, with the inscription, Rivers State Transport Company and in turn the two buses hit another trailer that was heading to the same direction with them and both summersaulted killing most of the passengers on board, instantly.

Reacting the development, Chairman of Ihiala branch of Nigeria Bar Association, NBA, Chief Emmanuel Egbunonu, expressed shock at the spate of auto accidents in the area and urged the Federal Government to come to the rescue by looking into the cause with a view to solving it.

The NBA boss recalled that in the recent time so many lives were lost on the said route without government doing anything to rekindle the heart of the people.

When this reporter visited the scene, officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC were seen along with Police cops, busy taking the dead to a morgue while those that sustained injuries were also rushed to nearby hospitals.

A community source disclosed that all attempts by the community youth to block the kidnappers’ vehicle while leaving was fruitless.
He stated that the youth could not intervene as a result of the indiscriminate shooting coming from the kidnappers during the operation.

Presidency, PDP blast Tinubu over comment against Jonathan

The Presidency on Friday slammed a former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, for his Thursday's comment on President Goodluck Jonathan.

Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, Ahmed Gulak, in an interview with our correspondent, said he was shocked at Tinubu's utterances.

This statement means Tinubu is not a leader, it means he should not be followed.

'The President is the father of this nation; he represents the sovereignty of the country,' he said.

PDP National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh, in a statement on Friday, questioned the motive of the ACN leader in his comments about the PDPGF.

Metuh described Tinubu's comments as 'contrary to the constitutionally guaranteed freedom of association.'

PDP said, 'Since the inception of the current democratic dispensation, governors have had several groups where they meet to aggregate their common interests. We have governors of the ACN always meeting.

'We also have groups like the Northern Governors Forum, South East Governors Foum, South South Governors Forum and so on. What is the idea behind Tinubu's attack on the PDPGF? It goes to show the absence of democratic tenets in him for him to attempt to prevent Nigerian citizens from associating with one another.'

Tinubu had at a lecture held to celebrate the 60th birthday anniversary of Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State in Benin City, criticised Jonathan for allegedly presiding over the establishment of the Peoples Democratic Party Governors' Forum as a counterweight to the Nigerian Governors' Forum, which cuts across party lines.

The national leader of the Action Congress of Nigeria accused the President of allegedly dividing the governors just because they had the temerity to oppose the Excess Crude Account.

Tinubu said he was ashamed of the President for presiding over the creation of the PDP Governors' Forum, adding that by his actions, Jonathan was not promoting democracy.

Angelina Jolie Honors Young Activist Malala Yousafzai at Women in the World Gala

Angelina Jolie
Agelina Jolie attended 2013 Women in the World summit at Lincoln Center in New York City on Thursday, April 4 along with the likes of Meryl Streep. The actress paid tribute to Malala Yousafzai, a 14-year-old girl from Pakistan who was shot in the head for advocating girls' education.

"Here's what they accomplished," the special envoy for the U.N. refugee agency said of Yousafzai's attackers in the emotional tribute to introduce the little girl to the crowd. "They shot her point blank range in the head - and made her stronger. The brutal attempt to silence her voice made it stronger."

Jolie also joked that Yousafzai was once informed by her father that she was the sixth most influential person in the world ahead of President Barack Obama but the girl wasn't happy because she believed human beings should not be categorized in that way. "So there's a lot we can learn from this little girl," Jolie said.

The inspiring teen then appeared via a video from Britain, where she underwent surgery and skull reconstructions and now attends school. She announced the Malala Fund and said a school had been built in her home country for 40 girls, thanks to the charity. "Let us turn the education of 40 girls into 40 million girls," she said.

Tina Brown, the Newsweek/Daily Beast editor who created the Women in the World summit, later revealed to the audience at the fourth annual event that Jolie had personally donated $200,000 for the good cause which Yousafzai is in charge of.

In another tribute segment, Streep took the stage to honor another activist, Inez McCormack of Northern Ireland, who died in January of cancer. Also, there was Barbara Walters hosting a panel in Syria. Other attendees included America Ferrera, Lauren Bush and Diane Von Furstenberg.
